The CCMA’s always prove to be quite the event.

So we’re getting geared up for a stadium tour with Toby Keith and Aaron Pritchett. October 3rd-10th. We’ll be playing 6 shows in 7 nights, check the tour section of my site for more info. Still keeping busy with The Adam Woodall Band here at home. Just love playing with that band. Also, going away this weekend with my beautiful and talented wife Samantha. Yes! And the weather should be gorgeous to boot. Can’t believe it’s already the middle of September.

Last weekend in Winnipeg was no exception. Jessie Farrell won 3 of 7, including Female Artist of the Year! Very well done. Us band boys didn’t walk away with any hardware. Oh well, c’est la vie. We also saw some after party shows at the Pyramid. Darius Rucker (of Hootie and the Blowfish fame), Dierks Bentley, Deric Ruttan, just to name a few. Pretty cool to see them at such an intimate venue. The nights are always late, the faces are always familiar, and the band wrestling is always intense, but that’s part of what makes the CCMA’s so special. It’s just plain fun.

Jesse has been nominated for Drummer of the Year for the 2008 Canadian Country Music Awards, which are to be held in Winnipeg, MB in September.

The nomination is for his work with country artist Jessie Farrell who has herself been nominated for 7 (!) awards, the most for any artist this year. In addition to J-Go, Jessie Farrell’s guitar player, Jesse Tucker, and bass player, Ryland Haggis, have both been nominated in their respective categories.

So, in conclusion, somebody better win somethin’.
