Jesse Godin’s drumming is a combination of two simple things:

Time and space.

A natural behind the kit, Godin began drumming at age 3, coached by his stick-wielding dad, John. Practicing alongside his pop on matching kits, Jesse learned to lay down a groove and create open spaces for the musicians around him to fill with sound. Idolizing Tony Thompson, Manu Katché, and Stewart Copeland, he fused their styles into a rhythm all his own.

Favouring a 4-piece kit, Godin has always approached his drumming simply and straight ahead. His phrasing, incredibly steady meter, and a knack for tuning a drum kit have made him an in-demand player on the Vancouver scene for over 10 years. He holds down the drum-seat with Canadian country star Jessie Farrell, recording all of the tracks for her current Universal Music release Nothing Fancy. He’s toured with Farrell over the past 4 years, including tours with Aaron Pritchett, Johnny Reid, Sugarland, Alan Jackson, and Brooks & Dunn. Godin is also a full-time member of the Adam Woodall Band, having recorded and toured with the band since it’s inception in 2000.

Jesse has also played live and recorded as a session artist for many other Vancouver based acts as well as being a guest lecturer for studio drumming at the Art Institute of Vancouver over the past 3 years.

From rock to R&B, country to pop, Jesse Godin is a rising star on the Canadian drumming scene, controlling the time and space of all of the music he is a part of.
